Created and developed an Augmented Reality experience and revamp the digital presence for Ocean Week Canada 2024.
For Ocean Week Canada, I created an engaging augmented reality (AR) poster experience to boost organic website traffic and raise awareness about ocean conservation. Placed in high-traffic venues like Ripley's Aquarium, the Canadian Museum of Nature, Arcadia Earth and Fisherman's Wharf (Halifax) these AR posters allowed users to interact with 3D marine life and educational content by simply scanning with their smartphones.
The campaign was also featured in Canadian Geographic, effectively driving 500+ organic website views in a week via the poster and magazine ad. This innovative approach combined technology with strategic placement to inspire action and promote the importance of protecting our oceans and freshwater resources.
The concept reflects native and global Canadian marine life swimming inside the map of Canada, along with humans to represent the human-ocean connection that Ocean Week Canada brings together. To test it out, scan the QR code in the poster below and point your phone at the map image in the poster! (Note: Subject to experience being active)
